Bando is a global leader in the design and manufacture of power transmission belts, conveyor systems, and automotive components. Their brand emphasizes technical innovation, quality, and efficiency, with a strong presence in both industrial and consumer sectors. 

Design Concept

This packaging design was developed for Bando’s ONOSATO line, focusing on high-performance automotive belts tailored for motorcycle applications. The goal was to create a visually impactful, technically informative package that resonates with both engineers and speed-driven enthusiasts—while staying true to Bando’s legacy of quality, precision, and Japanese innovation. 

 The final packaging is a bold fusion of visual storytelling and engineering clarity. It appeals to performance enthusiasts and professional technicians alike, reinforcing Bando’s leadership in advanced power transmission solutions. This project reflects our belief that industrial packaging can still be powerful, culturally resonant, and brand-aligned

Front Design – Power in Motion

The front panel features a dynamic, black-and-white illustration of a motorcycle rider, rendered with bold, brushstroke-like textures. This ink-wash-inspired artwork captures the raw energy of speed and mechanical power, paying homage to both traditional Japanese art and modern motorsport culture. The striking contrast between the grayscale palette and red accent line delivers a sense of urgency and performance, anchoring the visual identity in power and precision.

The typography balances industrial strength and clarity:
ONOSATO is styled with a stylized belt-texture effect, evoking motion and durability.
BANDO remains bold, clean, and highly legible—reinforcing brand trust. 

Back Design – Technical Authority

The reverse side communicates the technical superiority of the product. Featuring precise 3D renderings of the belt structure alongside comparison graphs, the layout appeals to the rational, engineering mindset. The structured design includes product specifications, performance metrics, and comparison data, ensuring the packaging functions not only as a protective sleeve but also as a portable product datasheet.
 
Cleanly integrated Japanese typography, grayscale visuals, and graph-based layouts communicate the brand’s commitment to research and high-performance engineering, while a subtle rope-like divider reinforces themes of strength and tension—a nod to the core function of belts.
